Meet Rev. Marcelo Robles
Rev. Robles is using the curriculum of Third Millennium Ministries to train pastoral candidates through "discipleship training" in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Our Background
Our church, called "La Misión," (in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a church plant with a multiple congregational model. At present we have four congregations. Our vision is to have five well established congregations by 2020.
Since we do not have a Reformed seminary in Argentina, we decided to use the curriculum of Third Millennium Ministries to train our ministerial candidates at the bachelors level. Our presbytery has approved this program.
What We Do To Train Pastors
We have signed an agreement with Birmingham Theological Seminary and are using their certificate program, which uses the Third Mill curriculum plus some assigned readings.
We started in 2016 with 6 students (all ministerial candidates). Today we have 8 students. We meet every 15 days and I have been their tutor/moderator.
How Using Third Millennium Ministries Has Helped
The experience has been highly rewarding and a blessing for all of us.
We have not only been learning the content of the Third Mill curriculum, but also have been able to reflect on ministry issues in the context of our city. Some of the testimonies of the students have been very encouraging to me as they see this seminary experience not only as great learning opportunity but also as discipleship training.
This teaching/discipleship/training program has become the backbone of my ministry. It is by far my first priority in our church planting program.
I am so grateful for Third Millennium and for the guidance, encouragement and wisdom the Lord has given us through Gary.
