About Gary Waldecker
Gary is the son of a PCA minister. He received a B.A. from Covenant College with a double major in philosophy and Bible. He later graduated from Covenant Seminary with an M.Div., and from Westminster Seminary with a doctorate in Urban Missiology. He also has a doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning (Organizational Development) from The George Washington University.
Gary became a missionary in 1980 and served as a church planter in Chile. For the first eight years he and his family lived and worked in Western Santiago among the poor. Then Gary became the team leader of a church planting team whose focus was the unreached upper middle class in Viña del Mar, Chile. Until November of 2001 he was Mission to the World's Regional Director for urban South America. Then he became the leader of MTW’s Missional Learning and Development Team, focusing on helping our missionary force be as effective as possible.
In February of 2015 Gary joined Third Millennium Ministries to help them with a new phase of their ministry. Third Millennium has created a high quality multimedia curriculum designed to help train people for ministry. It is available for free in many different languages. Gary’s main job is helping Third Millennium Ministries design and implement ways to help people actually put the teaching of the curriculum into practice. This involves interacting with people around the world, some travel, as well as writing Application Guides for all of the Third Millennium courses.
